Librarian Assistant

After school/Evenings/Summer: A library assistant works under a librarian to facilitate daily operations, manage circulation, and assist visitors. Primary duties include checking books in and out, processing library cards, shelving materials, and answering patron inquiries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Circulation Desk: Process check-ins and check-outs, register new patrons, collect fines or fees, and manage interlibrary loans.
  • Collection Maintenance: Sort and re-shelve returned items, organize book stacks, and inspect books for damage.
  • Patron Assistance: Answer general questions in person or over the phone, assist visitors in locating materials, and provide basic technical support for computers and printers.

Qualifications & Skills
