Overview
The Librarian I implements the District strategy for library adult services. They manage library processes or people or both. They are responsible for leading by example, upholding policies consistently to maintain accountability. They continually promote increased use of the District library services and collections. The Librarian provides customer service including processing library cards, check-in & check-out of materials and collection of money for fees. Librarians navigate a broad range of collections and embrace many media types. Teamwork, communication and personal integrity are essential to the success of this position.

Requirements:Education and experience: Completion of a Master of Library and Information Science degree from an American Library Association accredited institution required. Public library work and supervisory experience preferred.
Additional eligibility qualifications: NONE
Work Environment: Inside support role, with occasional outside assignments. Regular interaction with other staff and the public. Operates phones, computers and office equipment.
Hours of Work: Salary, Exempt Full-Time
The schedule requires one evening shift per week and one weekend shift per month.

Physical demands: Light physical effort in carrying and shelving books. Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching.
