School Librarian / Media Specialist (Master’s Required)

Le Monde International School is seeking a certified School Librarian / Media Specialist to lead a dynamic library and media program for elementary children while teaching engaging middle school electives such as journalism, newspaper, podcasting, and/or digital media.
We are a tuition-free, public charter school serving Pre-K through 8th grade, offering French and Spanish language alongside English and all Oklahoma academic standards. This role blends traditional librarianship, instructional technology, and creative teaching.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the school library and media program
- Promote literacy, research skills, and digital citizenship
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate media and technology into instruction
- Teach middle school electives: journalism, newspaper, podcasting, digital media
- Guide student publishing, broadcasting, and creative projects
- Support school-wide literacy and media initiatives
- Promote library resources through social media management and community outreach activities to increase engagement and awareness.
- Collaborate with colleagues on project management tasks related to research initiatives, database maintenance, and information management systems.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Library Science or School Library Media Education — Required
- Oklahoma School Librarian Certification (or eligibility) — Required
- Experience in elementary and/or middle school classrooms
- Strong technology and media integration skills
- Passion for literacy, creativity, and student-centered learning
- Familiarity with social media platforms for resource promotion and community engagement is a plus.
- Knowledge of intellectual property law relevant to digital content creation and resource sharing.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting on multiple projects simultaneously. This position offers an engaging environment where your expertise will directly contribute to enriching community access to knowledge while supporting innovative library

Pay: $43,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
