This is an entry-level public library job ideal for someone interested in customer service, circulation services, and library support work.
What You’ll Do
- Assist patrons at public service desks and over the phone
- Answer basic reference questions and help locate materials
- Provide assistance with computers, printers, and basic technology help
- Perform circulation tasks (check-in/check-out, holds, accounts)
- Shelve, organize, and maintain library collections
- Process incoming and outgoing library materials
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma required
- Prior customer service experience required
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Interest in library services, books, and community engagement
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, public-facing environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the library for extended periods
- Ability to push carts and handle library materials
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Schedule & Pay
- Part-time (8–19 hours/week)
- Evening and weekend availability required
Pay: From $12.25 per hour
Expected hours: 8.0 – 19.0 per week
