Responsibilities:

• Patrol library premises regularly to ensure safety and security of staff and patrons.
• Collaborate with library personnel to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
• Provide immediate response to incidents or emergencies, ensuring a swift and effective resolution.
• Educate library staff and visitors on safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
• Assist in the training of library staff on security-related matters and best practices.
• Foster positive relationships with library patrons to encourage a cooperative atmosphere.

Requirements:

• Valid armed security or law enforcement license.
• Proven experience in security operations, preferably in public or community settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with library staff and patrons.
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure in emergency situations.
• Understanding safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
• Flexible availability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Commitment to creating a positive and welcoming environment for all library users.
