Cañon City is proud of their rich heritage and many cultural and artistic venues. Located in the Southcentral portion of Colorado, it is a Home Rule Municipality and the county seat of Fremont County. It is a Council-Administrator form of government with the Administrator reporting directly to the City Council. Cañon City was founded in 1858 during the Pike's Peak Gold Rush and was originally intended as a commercial center for mining in South Park and the upper Arkansas River. With a city population of over 16,700, Cañon City straddles the easterly flowing Arkansas River and is a popular tourist destination for whitewater rafting, sightseeing and rock climbing.

**ABOUT THE POSITION**

Under close supervision, performs a variety of duties supporting the circulation of library materials for the City of Cañon City Public Library.

• Perform a variety of basic support duties for the Cañon City Public Library, including assist patrons find materials, checking materials in/out, and assist in the processing and cleaning of materials.
• Performs shelving and book/materials collection maintenance.
• Keeps collections organized and in proper order.
• Provides excellent customer service to external and internal customers including but not limited to effectively listening and communicating, providing accurate information, offering solutions, assisting in resolution, and ensuring timely follow up as needed.
