The Public Library is hiring for Library Assistant positions at several different branches. Library Assistants work directly with customers to provide library cards, check-in and check-out items, and answer account questions. You will also help customers locate library materials and assist with a wide variety of questions relating to public computers and online library resources.
We’re looking for candidates who are pleasant and helpful in customer service-oriented environments. Many of our processes require attention to detail and organization. You will be an important part of our team and must be reliable and punctual. Additionally, Library Assistants will work closely with a diverse population of community members.
Positions will be 40 hours per week and will require weekend and/or evening coverage.
Preferred Skills & Abilities
Please note, Library Assistants are contracted through a staffing agency and are not City of Albuquerque positions. Assistants are able to work an assignment for up to two years and may then reapply after a 90-day furlough. Renewed assignment is not guaranteed.
Preference will be given to bilingual Spanish speakers and applicants with previous experience working in a library, bookstore, or in a customer service position.
Pay: $15.00 per hour
