Library Associate – Adult Services

The Minerva Public Library is a welcoming space where people of all ages come to learn, connect, and explore. We’re looking for someone who shares that commitment to service and wants to be part of a team that supports our community in meaningful, everyday ways.

Ideal candidates will have experience in library work, education, community engagement, or public service environments.

What You’ll Do

• Provide advanced reference services, reader’s advisory, and research assistance
• Plan, implement, and evaluate adult programs and community programming
• Contribute to collection development, cataloging support, and materials management
• Assist with marketing, outreach, and social media promotion
• Support library technology and troubleshooting
• Serve as staff member in charge and assist with daily operations
• Act as a keyholder and support opening/closing procedures

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the library for extended periods
• Ability to push carts and handle library materials
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma required; associate’s degree preferred
• Prior customer service experience required
• Prior library experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience with programming, outreach, or community engagement
• Valid driver’s license required

Schedule & Pay

• Full-time (35–40 hours/week)
• Evenings and weekends required

Pay: From $12.50 per hour
