Responsibilities

• Accurately catalog new acquisitions using integrated library systems (ILS) and other database tools
• Develop and maintain detailed records of library materials through precise data entry and filing practices
• Organize and classify items according to established cataloging standards, ensuring consistency across collections
• Conduct research to verify bibliographic information and update existing records as needed
• Assist patrons with locating materials, providing excellent customer service and clear communication
• Troubleshoot software issues related to cataloging systems and perform routine data collection for inventory management
• Collaborate with library staff on data organization projects to improve overall catalog accuracy and accessibility

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of databases, cataloging standards, and integrated library systems (ILS)
• Excellent writing skills for accurate record descriptions and documentation
• Proven experience with data entry, filing, and organizing large volumes of information
• Exceptional communication skills to assist patrons effectively and work collaboratively with team members
• Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in typing, computer skills, and software troubleshooting related to library management tools
• Ability to conduct research efficiently and gather relevant bibliographic data accurately
