Responsibilities

• Manage the check-in and check-out of library materials using integrated library system software, ensuring accurate data entry and cataloging.
• Assist patrons in locating resources, answering inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service to create a welcoming environment.
• Maintain organized filing systems for library records, databases, and STEM lab materials, ensuring easy access and efficient retrieval.
• Create exciting and eye catching displays.
• Conduct data collection on library usage patterns and compile reports to inform collection development and service improvements.
• Perform routine maintenance of library databases, including updating records and troubleshooting software issues related to cataloging or data entry.
• Collaborate with staff to develop engaging research activities, promote library services, and facilitate effective communication across departments.

Experience

• Prior experience working in a library setting or similar customer service environment is preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with databases, integrated library systems (ILS), cataloging procedures, and data entry tasks.
• Strong writing skills for documentation, reports, and communication with patrons and team members.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficient computer skills including typing speed, software troubleshooting, and familiarity with research tools.

Pay: $15.71 - $15.97 per hour
