Library Clerk

Harris Memorial Library is hiring a part-time library clerk. We are a small rural library in the Village of Otego. The library clerk would work closely with other library staff and independently to meet the needs of the community through customer service, library maintenance, circulation, and program offerings. We are in the midst of many exciting changes and are always striving to be a warm and welcoming space for our community.

Our ideal candidate would be creative and dedicated to the mission of the library including protecting intellectual freedom and the right to read. Library experience is not necessary but a willingness to learn and contribute to our community is a must. We are especially looking for an individual with an unshakeable positive attitude and an enthusiasm for assisting others.

This job requires sitting and standing for periods of time, the ability to lift 30 pounds, shelving books at ground level and on high shelves, using a computer, and being comfortable with children and adults of all ages.

This is a part-time position. The schedule is negotiable but must be available Saturday mornings.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Organizational skills: 1 year (Preferred)
• Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
• Library services: 1 year (Preferred)
