Tech Coach: Help patrons build digital skills, navigate technology, and access online resources
This role is focused on reducing social isolation and strengthening community connections. Whether you're helping someone send their first email or connecting a family to community resources, your service will make a difference. Library Corps is a one-year AmeriCorps position.

Members must complete 1,200 service hours over the course of one year.

Members will be scheduled for 25 hours per week.

Members will receive a $19,092 annual living stipend, paid biweekly for their service.

Upon successful completion of their service term, members will receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award.

Library Corps Tech Coach Summary: Tech Coach members will work as digital guides helping individuals navigate the digital landscape, obtain digital literacy skills, and find needed government benefits and community services. The Library’s provide digital learning opportunities through drop-in sessions at the Library branches. Each member will conduct an anticipated 25 hours of drop-in sessions per month. Patrons and community partner site clients included, but are not limited to, older adults, refugees, English language learners, and people living below poverty line. We are looking to fill 13 Library Corps Tech Coach spots.
Essential Functions:

Conduct drop-in sessions (schedules below) at Library branches to assist patrons with technology, employment, and benefits-related needs

Assist patrons with technology questions including, but not limited to creating/using email, navigating mobile print service, utilize common software

Assist patrons with job searches and resume building

Assist patrons with identifying and applying for government benefits
-
Teach classes to enhance digital literacy of community members
Marginal Functions:

Participate in community outreach events to share digital literacy resources from the Library
-
Offer one-on-one appointments for individualized support
-
Use online tools to assess each participant’s digital learning needs and connect them to appropriate learning modules

Create promotion and marketing material for classes and/or digital literacy programs

Proficient at navigating a variety of devices such as tablets, smartphones, and laptops or Chromebooks

Experience in the following skills: active listening, creative problem solving, customer service
