BRCC is seeking a full-time Library Instruction and Outreach Specialist. Job Duties For This Position Include

Provide discipline-specific tutoring, library orientation sessions, and introductory research instruction to support college initiatives, including the Career Academy, Lab School, and other enrollment management initiatives

Collaborate with Student Services to design and implement student retention initiatives in conjunction with BRCC Strategic Enrollment Management plan

Assist Coordinator of Library Services and Tutoring with maintaining the college archives

Develop, assess, and teach information literacy sessions for face-to-face and online instruction in collaboration with the Coordinator of Library Services and Tutoring

Design and deliver workshops, orientations, and instructional materials across departments at the college, including the Tutoring Center

Assist library users through traditional and electronic reference and circulation services at the service desk, by individual research appointments, and via live online chat

Create and maintain library guides for the library website, including research guides and online tutorials

Collaborate with Coordinator of Library Services and Tutoring in design, development, and maintenance of Houff Library and the Tutoring Center’s web presence

Collaborate with Coordinator of Library Services and Tutoring to evaluate and utilize electronic product and services for use and implementation in Houff Library
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Skilled in use of computers to input data, produce reports, and troubleshoot basic technology issues

Strong customer service experience

Knowledge, experience or training related to Library operations

Ability to effectively facilitate orientation and instructional sessions
