Maintains the orderly organization of the library collection to ensure materials are easily accessible to customersAlphabetizes and numerically arranges materials on library carts prior to shelvingShelves library materials accurately and performs routine shelf-reading to maintain proper order within the collectionStraightens shelves, tables, and seating areas to maintain an attractive and welcoming public spaceAssists with filling and maintaining library displays and shifts materials as needed to prevent overcrowdingSupports circulation staff by checking in returned library materials in the circulation workroomPulls items from shelves to fulfill customer requests and helps clear “Missing” or “In Transit” item statuses when locatedAnswers incoming phone calls and transfers them to the appropriate staff member or departmentPerforms shelf checks for missing materials and assists with collecting items from the book drop for check-inAssists with processing weeded materials, prepares hold wrappers and routing slips, and moves full courier boxes to the designated pickup area
