This technical and administrative position manages the security functions of the Palm Beach County Library System. Serves as the liaison to the Electronic Security Services (ESS) Division of the Public Safety Department. Oversees an outsourced security force; reviews and administers Library security protocols; conducts security audits; oversees security systems and radio management. This position reports to the Division Director and will manage the Library Incident Reporting System while serving as the Library’s point of contact for the County Incident Report System. Work is reviewed through conferences, reports, and observation of program effectiveness.


QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or closely related field; minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in security operations,

OR

  • An unrelated Bachelor’s Degree; minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in security operations,

OR

  • An Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or closely related field; minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in security operations,

OR

  • An unrelated Associate’s Degree; minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in security operations,

OR

  • Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in security operations.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience developing security programs or working with the security of libraries, and
  • Experience with incident tracking programs/systems.
