Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Gallery Monitor’s purpose is to provide tours and sell tickets to the Gallery of Iconic Guitars and the Frederick Hart Studio Museum. Answer questions and monitor visitors of the gallery spaces.

Remain in the gallery throughout the shift and keep a count of visitors. Handle ticketing for visitors.
Be knowledgeable of the collection and gallery space.
Notify supervisor of any issues or anomalies that may arise during a shift.
Students must remain in the gallery until the replacement student worker is present. Notify on-duty staff immediately if there is a ‘no show’.
The galleries are open from 10am to 4:30pm Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Sundays from 1-4:30pm. Opportunities to work special events available.

Required Qualifications

The student must be responsible, trustworthy and able to work independently. He/she must interact with visitors professionally, demonstrate leadership, and work with other monitors.
The student should be observant and constantly aware of his/her surroundings, have good judgment and critical thinking skills.
This position requires self-motivation, confidence, personable communication skills, and holds leadership experience.
Must have a minimum of 5 hours of availability during gallery opening hours.
Must have Summer availability.

Required Education

Should be enrolled as a current student at Belmont University.

Required Experience

Some previous front desk or customer service experience is helpful. Previous Library experience is helpful but not required.
