The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Library Specialist (part-time, temporary, non-benefited) for our Book Mobile. This position serves at the discretion of the department director. The work schedule is 19 hours a week, with occasional weekend and evening hours.
Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

Library
Chandler Public Library inspires intellectual discovery, creative entertainment, and lifelong learning through robust information resources that connect communities to a world of knowledge and new ideas. As a system of four libraries in all geographic areas of the community and a collection of nearly 500,000 books, DVDs, and a wide variety of digital resources, we bring people, information, and ideas together to read, learn, connect, and succeed. Who we are looking for
We are looking for a dynamic individual with a passion for Early Literacy and the ability to work with parents of children aged 0–5. This team member will play a key role in preparing and delivering engaging early literacy programs in the library and throughout the community, including on our brand-new mobile library. A strong commitment to customer service, teamwork, and collaboration is essential. Additional responsibilities include evaluating services and materials and applying foundational library standards, procedures, and techniques to support the daily operations of our mobile library. Experience working with Spanish-speaking customers is highly valued.

Minimum qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED; and
- 2 years of general library experience; and
- A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired qualifications
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Experience providing early literacy programming or instruction
- Experience with library outreach
