Library Specialist - Bookmobile (Parttime, Temporary, Non-benefited)

The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Library Specialist (part-time, temporary, non-benefited) for our Book Mobile. This position serves at the discretion of the department director. The work schedule is 19 hours a week, with occasional weekend and evening hours.

Library
Chandler Public Library inspires intellectual discovery, creative entertainment, and lifelong learning through robust information resources that connect communities to a world of knowledge and new ideas. As a system of four libraries in all geographic areas of the community and a collection of nearly 500,000 books, DVDs, and a wide variety of digital resources, we bring people, information, and ideas together to read, learn, connect, and succeed. Our libraries continuously reflect on patrons' current and emerging needs and choose to advance literacy and champion inclusive learning experiences for all people by fostering accessibility and embracing new technology.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a passion for Early Literacy and the ability to work with parents of children aged 0–5. This team member will play a key role in preparing and delivering engaging early literacy programs in the library and throughout the community, including on our brand-new mobile library. A strong commitment to customer service, teamwork, and collaboration is essential. Additional responsibilities include evaluating services and materials and applying foundational library standards, procedures, and techniques to support the daily operations of our mobile library.
