The Louisville Public Library is seeking applications for an organized, friendly, and energetic Intern to support our Youth Services team over the summer.
Summer is the busiest time in the Public Library with children's, teen, and family programming. Under the guidance of the Youth Services Supervisor, the summer Library Intern will assist in preparing and presenting summer programs, support readers' advisory and other library services at the Children's Service Desk, organize and shelve library materials, create props for story times, work with the volunteer Teen Summer Squad, and other day-to-day tasks in the Youth Services department.
This Internship offers 15 hours per week from May 18- July 31, 2026, and provides the opportunity to work directly with children and teens. The schedule for this position is Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9:30am-3pm.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Materials and Equipment Used:
Computer, printer, copy machine, book cart, craft materials, and tools.
Work Environment & Physical Activity:
Casual, friendly atmosphere; bending, stretching, kneeling, carrying, lifting will be necessary.
Training Provided:
Orientation provided to familiarize the Intern with library staff, tools, and details of the summer program.
Time Commitment:
15 hours per week, from May 18- July 31, 2026.
