Library Tutor 19.5 hours per week

POSITION: Library Tutor - 19.5 hours per week


REPORTS TO: Building Principal


SALARY:
$20.00 per hour


HOURS: 19.5 hours per week, until the end of this school year


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in education (minimum)
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative problem solving skills.
  • Successful prior experience working with general education students.
  • Knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning and the ability to apply these practices.
  • Ability to plan student lessons and work independently with individuals and groups.
  • Commitment to the District’s goals & school improvement plan goals.
  • Bilingualism is a highly desired skill for a position, but not a requirement


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Using prepared lesson plans, instruct at-risk individuals or small groups of students within the regular classroom and occasionally other settings.
  • Facilitate the instructional programs of all assigned students under the supervision of the classroom teacher, Title I Director and Building Principal.
  • Document student performance and progress in collaboration with the classroom teachers and/or the student’s individual program requirements.
  • Plan appropriate instructional activities and administer assessments in collaboration with classroom teachers.
  • Meet regularly with other staff members and classroom teachers to coordinate interdisciplinary programs and activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee.
