We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Associate Dentist for a part time position (2-3 days per week) to join our closely knit dental team in a private dental practice, a block away from the beach. There is a potential for this position to grow into a full time role in future, if so desired by a suitable candidate. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive dental care including bread & butter general dentistry procedures, endodontics (anterior teeth root canal therapy), prosthodontics, surgical dental extractions.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments utilizing dental terminology and medical terminology to diagnose conditions accurately.
- Perform dental fabrication tasks, including crowns, bridges, and other restorations, ensuring precision and quality.
- Utilize dental imaging techniques while adhering to infection control standards and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and document all treatments using electronic health record systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix.
- Apply infection control protocols and sterilization procedures consistently to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment options, and post-procedure care to promote long-term dental wellness.
- Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry setups to optimize efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
- Stay current with advancements in dental technology and techniques to enhance patient care quality.
Experience
- Valid state license to practice dentistry as a Licensed Associate Dentist with current credentials.
- Proven experience in general dentistry with additional expertise in general oral surgery, endodontics, or prosthodontics preferred.
- Prior experience working with electronic health record systems such as Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and infection control standards.
- Experience in performing dental extractions, root canal therapy, dental fabrication processes, and utilizing medical imaging tools effectively.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and medical documentation practices.
- Previous employment in a dental office or clinic setting that emphasizes patient care excellence is preferred.
