Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive addiction counseling and mental health support to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems, to determine treatment needs.
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions utilizing behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and applied behavior analysis techniques.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical best practices and patient goals.
- Facilitate crisis intervention and crisis management to ensure patient safety during acute episodes or emotional distress.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, records, and notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations while ensuring confidentiality.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, including social work, case management, and medical professionals.
- Engage in ongoing research and data collection to evaluate treatment effectiveness and improve clinical outcomes.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or equivalent certification recognized by state licensing boards.
- Proven experience in addiction counseling, behavioral health, or mental health settings, including hospital or home & community care environments.
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral management, and crisis intervention strategies.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and documentation standards under HIPAA.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with the ability to manage complex cases involving PTSD care or co-occurring disorders.
- Effective communication skills for intake procedures, patient education, family counseling (child & family counseling), and group therapy facilitation.
