Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Position Summary
Join a passionate, community-centered effort to expand access to culturally responsive behavioral health care in Boyle Heights. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with youth and families, reduce stigma around mental health and substance use, and help build stronger, healthier neighborhoods through collaborative, prevention-focused care.

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) will support the HOPE Collaborative, a neighborhood-based behavioral health initiative focused on addressing mental health and substance use through culturally responsive, family-centered care. This role provides behavioral health services to youth and families, facilitates workshops, and connects community members to supportive resources. The LCSW will also collaborate with local partners, including the USC Institute for Addiction Science, to strengthen coordinated behavioral health and prevention services in Boyle Heights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide culturally responsive behavioral health services to youth and families, including assessments, brief interventions, counseling, and referrals.
  • Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions related to behavioral health, substance use, and family challenges.
  • Deliver workshops and support groups for youth, caregivers, and families to promote recovery-supportive environments.
  • Provide crisis intervention, risk assessments, safety planning, and follow-up support when needed.
  • Collaborate with program staff to integrate trauma-informed behavioral health practices into youth programming.
  • Coordinate with community partners and service providers to ensure seamless referrals and care navigation through the Boyle Heights Safety Network.
  • Conduct prevention trainings and behavioral health education for staff and community members.
  • Support program evaluation and maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting.
  • Supervise BASW/MSW interns and support their clinical development and case management experience.
  • Participate in community events, workshops, and special initiatives related to behavioral health and addiction prevention.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW).
  • Active California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience providing services to youth (ages 10–18) and adults.
  • Experience providing individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and safety planning.
  • Background in substance use counseling, family systems work, and trauma-informed care.
  • Strong understanding of adolescent mental health and youth development.
  • Ability to collaborate with families, staff, and community partners.
  • Strong documentation, case management, and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification and TB clearance required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (primarily seated) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a computer, printer, copier, and other office equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via electronic means.
  • Ability to move about the facility as needed to perform job duties.
  • Tasks may occasionally involve standing, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
  • May occasionally be exposed to varying environmental conditions such as noise or activity typical of youth-serving environments.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
