Licensed Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Licensed Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team! In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional patient care by providing chairside assistance, managing dental procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic setting focused on general dentistry and specialized fields such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.

Duties

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, and root canals using four-handed dentistry techniques
  • Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials, maintaining strict aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards are met
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans and other medical imaging as needed for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Record detailed medical and dental histories, and medical documentation while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
  • Manage patient flow by greeting patients, and updating medical records in EMR such as Softdent, Eagle Soft, and Dentrix
  • Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures by understanding pediatric-specific dental terminology and providing age-appropriate care
  • Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as coding procedures accurately using medical coding standards and maintaining organized medical records

Requirements

  • Valid license as a Dental Assistant with certification in chairside assisting from an accredited program (State of Minnesota)
  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
  • Proficiency in EMR systems such as Softdent, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for managing patient records and appointments
  • Familiarity with X-ray procedures, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
  • Ability to assist with general dentistry procedures
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
  • Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within the dental team and provide outstanding patient care

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
