Lead with Purpose—Join Southside Community Health Services as a Licensed Dental Assistant Coach
Are you a licensed dental assistant with leadership skills and a passion for training others? Southside Community Health Services (SCHS) in South Minneapolis is seeking a Licensed Dental Assistant Coach to provide clinical leadership, support high-quality care, and help grow our Dental Assistant Apprentice Program in partnership with MnACHC.
About the Role
This position provides hands-on coaching and supervision for dental assistant apprentices while supporting daily clinic operations and ensuring SCHS workflows, documentation standards, and compliance expectations are met. The role includes both leadership responsibilities and patient care hours based on FTE.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent SCHS in the MnACHC Dental Assistant Apprentice Program
- Recruit, train, and supervise dental assistant apprentices (primary focus of role)
- Coordinate apprentice progress and maintain communication with program partners and instructors
- Support clinic operations, scheduling adjustments, and workflow optimization
- Provide dental assisting services within scope, following best-practice standards
- Promote integrated, team-based care and improve access by reducing barriers
- Ensure timely documentation, chart completion, and strong EHR/coding practices
- Complete administrative tasks, credentialing requirements, and required trainings
- Support team engagement through huddles, 1:1s, and staff meetings
- Approve timecards and support staff accountability as assigned

Qualifications
- Dental Assisting diploma or degree
- Active Minnesota Dental Assistant license in good standing
- Current CPR certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or Somali) preferred, not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
