Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and patient care, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for our patients. This role requires proficiency in various dental assisting techniques and the ability to work collaboratively with dentists and other staff members.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Record patient vital signs and medical history accurately.
- Manage patient records using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, postoperative care, and treatment plans.
- Assist in the preparation of prosthodontic materials and other necessary supplies for procedures.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
- Provide excellent patient care by creating a welcoming environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy related to dental procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with dental assisting practices, including taking X-rays and managing patient records.
- Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix or Epic is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Certification in Dental Assisting or equivalent training is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and professionalism when interacting with patients.
