The Elevator Mechanic is responsible for the installation, repair, modernization, and maintenance of elevators, wheelchair lifts, and other vertical transportation systems. This role requires technical expertise, strict adherence to safety standards, and a commitment to delivering quality service to customers. And other tasks as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, repair, and modernize elevators, lifts, and related equipment.
- Conduct inspections and perform preventive maintenance in compliance with state, local, and federal regulations.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using testing devices and technical manuals.
- Follow all safety procedures, including OSHA and state elevator code requirements.
- Respond to emergency service calls, troubleshoot malfunctions, and restore equipment to service.
- Document service activities, complete work orders, and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in safe working condition.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients, building owners, and supervisors.
- Train and mentor apprentices as needed.
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
