Education and/or Experience
- Post-secondary Vocational/Technical School.
- Post graduate education with skin care companies.
- 2+ years industry experience
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
- Specialized skills and knowledge of facial protocols, aromatherapy and applicable equipment.
- Assess information from clients’ intake on contraindications and examining skin to evaluate suitability of treatments.
- Communicate with the client about his/her medical history including allergies, any problems with stress, any history of fractures and surgeries and/or pain issues to determine how and whether a facial treatment would be beneficial.
- Develop and propose client treatment plan for home care skin routine.
- Knowledge of an ability to perform role in emergency situations.
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Provide quality esthetic services including facials and waxing to members and their guests.
Job Tasks/Duties
- Ability to perform all facial, waxing, and applicable add on treatments offered on the menu according to protocols.
- Adhering to appointments in a timely matter by monitoring time schedule.
- Welcoming members and guests in a warm, friendly manner, accompanying them to and from treatment rooms and thanking them sincerely upon departure.
- Greets members and ensures that they sign in.
- Makes entries in and maintains treatment records for each member-client.
- Completes necessary information to invoice for all esthetic services.
- Coordinates scheduling with Spa Director and Asst. Spa Director
- Answering questions about esthetics and waxing.
- Maintaining product knowledge to promote and sell spa and salon services, and retail products.
- Communicates to Spa Director about customers or esthetic operation concerns.
- Caring for linens and replacing them in between sessions.
- Assists with maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the locker room. Restock and refresh when needed.
Licenses and Special Requirements
- Must have First Aid and CPR/Defibrillator training.
- Must have a State issued Esthetic License.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment, which is typical of this position.
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.
- Frequent repetitive motions.
- Continuous standing and walking.
- Must often work in humid and low-level light environment.
- Must be able to tolerate a variety of odors including massage oils and lotions.
