Licensed Hair Braider independent

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and licensed Hair Braider to join our team as an independent contractor. In this role, you will provide exceptional hair braiding services to clients while ensuring a positive and welcoming salon experience. Your expertise in various braiding techniques and customer service will be essential in building lasting relationships with clients and enhancing their overall satisfaction.

Duties

• Perform a variety of hair braiding styles, including but not limited to cornrows, box braids, and twists.
• Utilize hair extensions as needed to achieve desired styles.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with industry standards.
• Provide excellent customer service by actively listening to client needs and offering professional advice on hair care.
• Manage appointments and client records using salon software such as MINDBODY.
• Assist with front desk duties, including scheduling appointments and handling retail sales.
• Educate clients on proper hair maintenance and care techniques.
• Mentor junior staff or apprentices in braiding techniques and salon practices.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in hair styling, color theory, and sanitation practices.

Skills

• Proficient in hair styling techniques, including braiding, hair threading, eyelash extensions, and makeup application.
• Strong understanding of sanitation practices within the cosmetology field.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
• Experience with retail math for managing sales transactions and inventory.
• Ability to upsell products and services to enhance client experience.
• Knowledge of barbering techniques is a plus.
