Duties

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute precise wiring and system layouts.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment to diagnose issues accurately.
  • Work on construction sites, renovation projects, or maintenance tasks involving high voltage (HV) and low voltage systems.
  • Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation processes.
  • Conduct low voltage wiring for communication systems, security alarms, and other specialized electrical components.
  • Collaborate with construction teams, frame carpenters, and handymen to coordinate installation efforts efficiently.
  • Follow safety protocols diligently while working with high voltage systems and ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes.

Skills

  • Extensive experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of NEC regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for complex electrical systems.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for industrial automation applications.
  • Experience working on construction sites involving renovation or new installations.
  • Ability to work safely with high voltage (HV) and low voltage electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with framing carpentry and general construction practices to support electrical installations.
