Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker or Mental Health Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting individuals and families in navigating complex social issues. This position requires a strong commitment to advocacy, crisis intervention, and the promotion of mental health assessments, psychotherapy and well-being within the community. The Social Worker will work collaboratively with clients to assess their needs, develop effective intervention strategies, and connect them with appropriate resources.

Duties

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs and circumstances to develop tailored support plans.
• Provide crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing acute emotional distress or challenging life situations.
• Offer counseling services focusing on behavioral health, addiction counseling, and mentoring to empower clients toward positive change.
• Facilitate access to community resources, including workforce development programs and housing assistance such as Section 8.
• Supervise case management activities and coordinate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
• Engage in motivational interviewing techniques to help clients identify their goals and enhance their motivation for change.
• Advocate for child welfare by collaborating with families, schools, and other agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, progress notes, and case files in compliance with regulatory standards.

Experience

• A degree in Social Work or a related field is required; licensure is mandatory, provisional license Works. Social work or counseling interns also have the opportunity to do at our agency. Supervisor is board approved with the Social Work and Counseling board to provide supervision hours.
• Proven experience in social work or related fields such as behavioral health or crisis intervention is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with addiction counseling practices and workforce development initiatives is a plus. Opportunities to get professional training in areas your not familiar with.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations while demonstrating empathy and understanding.
