Job Summary
Atrium Behavioral Health Care Inc. is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and qualified Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) / Licensed Social Worker (LSW) to join our Behavioral Health Unit team. The Social Worker will play an essential role in supporting patients with behavioral health needs through psychosocial assessments, discharge planning, care coordination, crisis intervention, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.

The ideal candidate will be committed to providing patient-centered care, maintaining compliance with CMS, CIHQ, and State of Texas requirements, and helping ensure the smooth daily operation of the Behavioral Health Unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete psychosocial assessments and document findings accurately and timely
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and patient care conferences
  • Provide supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and emotional support to patients and families
  • Assist with discharge planning, aftercare coordination, and community resource referrals
  • Coordinate with physicians, nursing staff, case management, and other departments to support continuity of care
  • Help patients and families understand treatment goals, discharge needs, and follow-up care
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and compliant documentation in the medical record
  • Assist with patient rights education and advocacy
  • Support the Behavioral Health Unit in meeting regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Participate in QAPI, audits, compliance activities, and survey readiness efforts
  • Help identify barriers to discharge and work to resolve them in a timely manner
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect patient information in accordance with HIPAA

Qualifications

  • Current LMSW or LSW license in the State of Texas, in good standing
  • Master’s degree in Social Work or related field, as required for licensure
  • Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, hospital, or acute care settings preferred
  • Knowledge of discharge planning, crisis intervention, and psychosocial assessment
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of CMS, CIHQ, and behavioral health documentation standards preferred

Skills

  • Experience in adult behavioral health or inpatient psychiatric setting
  • Familiarity with case management and discharge planning processes
  • Strong understanding of community resources and referral networks
  • Ability to manage multiple patient needs in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the unit as needed
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and staff
  • Ability to respond promptly in crisis or urgent patient situations

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Work Location: In person
