Licensed Mental Counselor/Therapist

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide mental health therapy to clients within the scope of your training, experience, and licensure.
• Provide case management services and communicate with other healthcare providers as needed.
• Complete progress notes and other documentation promptly, adhering to legal, ethical, and insurance company guidelines.
• Develop rapport with clients to facilitate a healthy therapeutic relationship.
• Maintain Continuing Education credits and licensure requirements.
• Demonstrate a self-motivated attitude and perform responsibilities with limited supervision.
• Communicate openly with team members and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Essential Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a diverse group of clients and co-workers.
• Adherence to HIPAA laws and confidentiality standards.
• Independent decision-making based on client and company needs.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment.
• Proficiency in English (speaking, writing, reading, and understanding).
• Physical ability to lift 10 lbs and navigate work areas.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Master’s in Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a Doctorate in Psychology.
• Eligibility for and active pursuit of licensure in Iowa (LMHC, LCSW, LISW, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist). Temporary licensees welcome.
• Sound clinical and professional judgment.
• Proficiency in computer software, including electronic health records and Google Docs.
