Position Summary
The Licensed Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic services to individuals, families, and/or groups. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering counseling services to support clients in achieving emotional, behavioral, and mental wellness. The clinician will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based practices
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions as needed
- Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate intervention and support
- Collaborate with case managers, medical providers, and external partners
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and organizational regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CARF, Joint Commission standards if applicable)
- Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development
- Provide referrals to additional services and community resources as needed
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Active, unrestricted clinical license (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) in the applicable state
- Minimum of 2–5 years of clinical experience (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care)
- Experience with diverse populations, including individuals with co-occurring disorders
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills (DSM-5 knowledge)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
- Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize effectively
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
- Cultural competency and ethical decision-making
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while conducting sessions or completing documentation
- Ability to engage in in-person or virtual counseling sessions
- Occasional standing, walking, or light lifting (if required in certain settings)
Work Environment
- May work in outpatient clinics, residential facilities, hospitals, or community-based settings
- Hybrid or telehealth options may be available depending on organizational needs
- May require occasional evening or weekend hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or crisis stabilization settings
- Certification in specialized modalities (e.g., EMDR, substance abuse counseling)
- Experience with insurance billing and utilization review processes
Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
