Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive mental health services, including individual, group, and family counseling, to diverse populations. This role involves conducting diagnostic evaluations, developing treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions. The counselor will work in various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and through telehealth platforms, ensuring accessible and effective mental health care for clients of all ages. A strong background in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, Play Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and applied behavior analysis is essential. Experience working with children, adolescents, adults , PTSD care, addiction counseling, working with couples and individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral management techniques.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions addressing issues such as grief, trauma (including PTSD), addiction, gender identity, life changes, grief and loss.
  • Utilize crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health crises effectively.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals for integrated patient care involving psychopharmacology and medical terminology understanding.
  • Engage in clinical research or data collection projects to improve therapeutic outcomes.
  • Participate in case management activities to coordinate care across multiple service providers.
  • Deliver services via telehealth platforms to expand access to mental health support.
  • Stay current with advancements in mental health treatment modalities and ICD coding updates.

Qualifications

  • Valid licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LPC or equivalent) in Idaho.
  • Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, applied behavior analysis, and crisis management.
  • Experience working with children & family counseling, individuals with various mental health issues and life transitions.
  • Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic purposes.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
  • Strong skills in patient assessment, case management, social work principles, and behavioral health interventions.
  • Experience delivering services through outpatient settings or inpatient facilities; telehealth experience is a plus.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations effectively with excellent crisis intervention and crisis management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $75.00 - $110.00 per hour
