Gentle Mama Counseling, a perinatal counseling center, is now hiring licensed mental health practitioners. Our mission is to provide a safe place for our clients to create a healthy balance between mind and body as they uncover their new role as a mom/parent.

As a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for working to improve the feelings associated with our clients’ experience of motherhood by working together with them to process the sad, scary, or negative memories of their birth story in a way that empowers, nurtures, and supports them. Through our work we always want to remind them of their worth and show them that they are not “just a mom”. The following are some other high-quality duties and responsibilities you would perform:

• Provide individual, couples, and group therapy to diverse patients on a weekly/biweekly basis.
• Conduct a minimum of 15 client contact hours weekly (Part-time) and 25 client contact hours (Full-time) with a flexible schedule.
• Complete biopsychosocial assessments and diagnose mental health disorders.
• Develop, implement, monitor progress of comprehensive treatment plans, and maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists, APRN’s, IBCLC’s, and other mental health professionals to provide holistic care.
• Attend training and conferences to stay-up to date on the latest developments in mental and perinatal therapy.

Experience

• Master's degree in Social Work or related field [Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (Psy. D.)]
• Active state licensure as a LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psy. D.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience post grad in clinical social work or related field work.
• Experience and training working with individuals experiencing perinatal mood disorders.
• Proficiency in medical documentation, including knowledge of ICD-10 coding.
• Strong background in psychotherapy techniques and modalities.
• Familiarity with couples counseling approaches and family systems theory.
• Knowledge of behavioral health principles and interventions.
• Experience in DBT, CBT, and/or EMDR is a plus.
