Duties

  • Assist clients by explaining loan options, guiding them through the application process, and ensuring a smooth loan origination experience
  • Conduct thorough credit analysis, income verification, and collateral assessment to determine borrower eligibility
  • Negotiate terms with clients and lenders to secure favorable loan conditions while adhering to Fair Housing regulations and industry standards
  • Utilize Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and financial software such as Quicken to process applications efficiently and accurately
  • Ensure compliance with all mortgage lending regulations including TILA (Truth in Lending Act), FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines, and banking regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with underwriters, processors, escrow officers, and other team members to facilitate timely loan approvals and closings
  • Maintain detailed documentation of client interactions, loan processing steps, and compliance records to support audit readiness

Requirements

  • Valid Mortgage Loan Originator license with active status in accordance with state regulations
  • Proven experience as a mortgage loan officer or in retail lending within the financial services industry
  • Strong negotiation skills combined with excellent customer service abilities
  • Proficiency in Loan Origination Systems (LOS), accounting software, and financial software such as Quicken or similar tools
  • Knowledge of mortgage servicing, underwriting processes, credit analysis, and risk assessment in commercial lending is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Fair Housing laws, TILA regulations, FNMA guidelines, and overall mortgage compliance standards
  • Basic math skills including 10-key typing accuracy for data entry tasks
  • Effective relationship-building skills to foster trust with clients and industry partners
  • Ability to interpret financial documents, perform credit analysis, and evaluate borrower risk accurately

Pay: $86,731.33 - $104,450.63 per year
