Licensed / Non-Licensed Christian Counselor

About Us

A Practice Built on Faith, Care, & Calling
Foundations Christian Counseling is a faith-rooted counseling practice dedicated to walking alongside individuals, couples, and families with compassion, wisdom, and care grounded in a biblical worldview. We believe that true healing addresses the whole person - heart, mind, and soul - and we are committed to pointing people toward restoration and hope in Christ.

Our team includes both licensed counselors and Biblical Care Specialists, each bringing their unique training, gifts, and personal faith to the people we serve. Together, we care for adults, adolescents, and families through some of life's most difficult seasons.

The Role

What You'll Do:
At Foundations Christian Counseling, our Counselors and Biblical Care Specialists share a common calling: to walk faithfully alongside people in their most vulnerable moments. Depending on your licensure status, your role will be shaped accordingly - but all of our care providers are united by the same heart for people and commitment to Christ-centered care.

You will be supported by experienced team leaders, a collaborative community of care providers, and a mission-driven culture that values your growth as much as your contribution.

  • Provide individual, couples, family, and/or group counseling sessions rooted in a biblical worldview
  • Walk alongside clients with compassion, active listening, and faith-informed perspective
  • Develop personalized care plans that address the unique needs and goals of each person you serve
  • Maintain timely, accurate session notes and documentation in accordance with organizational and ethical standards
  • Collaborate with pastors, physicians, and other members of a client's broader support network as appropriate
  • Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development
  • Contribute to a supportive, Christ-centered team culture built on prayer, accountability, and shared mission
  • Licensed Counselors will additionally carry responsibility for clinical assessment, formal care planning, and may provide services requiring licensure as defined by their state of practice
  • Biblical Care Specialists provide holistic, faith-based supportive counseling without clinical diagnosis or licensure-dependent services

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:
Required of All Applicants

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited program
  • Personal Christian faith consistent with our Statement of Faith
  • Genuine heart for people and a calling to walk alongside others in their struggles
  • Ability to integrate faith and care in a thoughtful, person-centered way
  • Strong relational skills - warmth, active listening, and the ability to build trust
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, integrity, and client confidentiality

For Licensed Counselor Applicants

  • Current licensure or active pursuit of licensure (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LCPC, or state equivalent) in your state of practice
  • Ability to provide services as permitted under your license, including formal care planning where applicable
  • Licensed individuals will carry the title of Counselor and may serve clients requiring licensure-dependent care

For Biblical Care Specialist Applicants

  • Non-licensed master's-level graduates are warmly welcomed and valued as Biblical Care Specialists
  • Biblical Care Specialists provide faith-based supportive counseling outside the scope of clinical licensure
  • A passion for Scripture, prayer, and biblically-grounded encouragement is essential

Preferred for All

  • Experience working with individuals, couples, families, or specific populations (children, adolescents, ministry leaders)
  • Formal training or coursework in Christian counseling or biblical care integration models
  • Familiarity with a practice management or scheduling system
  • A spirit of collaboration, humility, and eagerness to keep growing
