Responsibilities
- Assist patients in choosing eyewear that meets their needs, preferences, and prescription requirements, utilizing retail sales techniques to enhance the customer experience.
- Take precise measurements for lens fitting, including pupillary distance and frame adjustments, ensuring optimal vision correction.
- Manage laboratory tasks such as lens ordering, fabrication coordination, and quality control to ensure timely delivery of eyewear.
- Support retail management by maintaining inventory levels, retail math accuracy, and visual merchandising standards in the optical department.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Optician or current enrollment in an accredited opticianry apprenticeship program.
- Knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy of the eye, physiology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices.
- Experience with optical equipment, laboratory procedures, aseptic technique, and clinic operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR systems or other healthcare software platforms.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration across healthcare settings including pediatrics and senior care environments.
- Basic retail management skills including retail math, sales techniques, and customer service excellence are highly desirable. Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
