Alpine Psychiatry is a team of nurse practitioners and therapists treating individuals both in person and virtually throughout PA and NJ. This position is fully remote.
Required Qualifications:
- LPC, LCSW, LMFT or license eligible (in PA)
- Masters Degree in Counseling, Social work, or related field
- 1-2 years experience in providing mental health therapy experience and comfortability with virtual/telehealth services
- Ability to work evenings
- Experience with Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAP) and/or Spravato Integration is a plus.
Position Overview:
This role involves providing individual, couples, or family therapy to clients with a range of psychiatric conditions. The ideal candidate is skilled in evidence-based treatment, comfortable with an insurance-based model, and values working in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
While clinical care forms the core of their duties, a significant number of administrative tasks are also integral to the therapist role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide ongoing therapy services to a diverse client population using evidence-based modalities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) in compliance with insurance and legal standards.
- Collaborate with psychiatric prescribers, case managers, and administrative staff to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in case consultations, staff meetings, and clinical supervision (if applicable).
- Submit billing documentation that meets the standards of insurance payers.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and state licensing regulations.
1*. Documentation and record-keeping*
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records: This includes assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, progress notes and follow-up documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards: Adhering to HIPAA, state licensing board regulations, and relevant ethical codes and standards is essential.
- Utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems: Documenting patient interactions, reviewing charts, and navigating EHR systems independently is required.
- Completing necessary forms: With the assistance of the admin staff - Handling tasks such as discharging, FMLA paperwork, and disability claims require accurate and timely documentation.
- Submitting accurate billing information: Ensuring services are properly coded and billed in accordance with regulations is crucial for financial operations.
2. Collaboration and coordination
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams: Working effectively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, primary care providers, and other professionals is essential.
- Coordinating patient care: This can involve working with admin staff to coordinate client care, letter drafting and managing caseloads.
- Referring patients to other specialists or resources: Facilitating access to additional services like psychiatry, support groups, or inpatient care when appropriate.
- Communicating with patients and families: Educating individuals about mental health conditions, treatment plans, and resources, while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Responding timely to all admin staff & patient requests through spruce, email and text.
3. Scheduling and appointment management
- Scheduling and rescheduling patient follow up appointments: Managing the therapist's calendar and ensuring smooth transitions between patients.
- Confirming appointments and providing necessary patient information: Ensuring patients are prepared for their follow up sessions.
- Managing patient feedback and inquiries: Promptly addressing concerns and resolving issues professionally.
4. Professional development and compliance
- Maintaining credentials and licensure: Staying up-to-date with all necessary certifications and licenses with the help of credentialing staff. Responding timely to credentialing staff requests.
- Participating in professional development activities: Attending training, workshops, and continuing education programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Adhering to ethical codes and standards of practice: Maintaining professional boundaries, ensuring patient safety, and upholding the integrity of the profession.
- Staying informed about healthcare and practice policy changes: Understanding regulations related to insurance coverage, mental health services, and patient privacy rights.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 35 per week
