We are a well-established and growing private mental health practice in West Michigan with 4 locations, dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals seeking support for their mental health and emotional well-being. Our team includes experienced therapists and psychologists who collaborate to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered treatment.

We are seeking a fully licensed Psychiatrist or Nursing Degree Equivalent who values flexibility, professional autonomy, and meaningful clinical work in a supportive environment.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various psychiatric disciplines, including pediatric psychiatry, outpatient care, and behavioral health. The Psychiatrist will play a vital role in delivering high-quality mental health services through both in-person and telehealth platforms, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Candidates with post-residency experience and expertise in specialized areas such as PTSD care, addiction counseling, and working with developmental disabilities are highly encouraged to apply.

As a 1099 Independent Contractor Psychiatrist, you will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for clients in an outpatient setting. You’ll enjoy the freedom to create your own schedule, work part-time or full-time, and focus on client care without the administrative burden of managing a practice.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients across age groups, including children, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, psychotherapy (including psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy), and other behavioral health interventions.
  • Provide outpatient psychiatric care, managing acute crises and ongoing mental health needs.
  • Utilize telehealth platforms to expand access to mental health services while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records, including intake notes, progress reports, and treatment updates.
  • Collaborate with therapsits to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Stay current with medical terminology, diagnostic criteria, and best practices in psychiatry to ensure evidence-based treatment delivery.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards.

Skills

  • Proven expertise in psychiatry with specialization in pediatric psychiatry, geriatrics, or behavioral health preferred.
  • Experience working with children, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring PTSD care is highly desirable.
  • Strong background in psychopharmacology, crisis management, addiction counseling, and psychotherapy modalities such as psychodynamic therapy.
  • Excellent patient care skills with the ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Knowledge of medical documentation standards, medical terminology, and electronic medical records systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations involving crisis intervention while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and engaging patients across diverse backgrounds.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $150,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
