Licensed Pharmacy Technician - part time

Costco Pharmacy is looking for a part time pharmacy technician with guaranteed 24 hours per week, with potential for more hours as necessary. Starting wage is $21 per hour for licensed pharmacy technician (+$3.00 per hour premium if you have national pharmacy technician certification and additional +$1.00 if certified immunizer with current cpr)

Job duties include the following; (to the extent allowable by state law)

Orders and stocks drugs, supplies and OTC merchandise in accordance with merchandising plan for department. Creates product signs. Updates patient records and inventory, processes invoices and makes accounting entries into computer. Assists pharmacist in updating patient profile and entering prescription information into the computer. Preserves patient confidentiality. Answers phones and provides prompt and courteous member service, including answering questions at pharmacy window and directing members to product location. Assists pharmacist in filling prescriptions, by bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, re-stocking labeling and pricing. Prepares third party insurance claims. Orders, receives, tags and stocks prescription drugs and supplies. Follows product storage procedures and standards. Cleans department by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping and dusting. Empties trash and operates trash compactor and cardboard baler. Follows security and safety procedures, including securing department by appropriately storing or disposing of confidential documents and using proper disposal methods for immunization supplies and hazardous waste. Assists customers at counter, receives written prescriptions for pharmacist, retrieves filled prescriptions, rings up orders. Receives payment, makes change, processes checks, credit and debit charges. Ensures proper cleanup, disposal and returns of hazardous materials. Regular and reliable workplace attendance. Essential functions include; Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery. Computer, phone, fax, printer, manual pallet jack, computerized ordering and inventory system, cash register, hand held scanner, trash compactor, cardboard baler. Assists in other areas of department as necessary and assists other departments of warehouse as necessary.

Experience/Skills/Education/License/Certifications:

High school diploma or GED required

State, national, or NACDS technical training or Michigan Pharmacy Technician License as required by state

Pharmacy experience preferred

Computer, math, insurance billing, and customer service skills preferred.

National Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred
