Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant, you will support licensed physical therapists in delivering comprehensive rehabilitation services, ensuring optimal recovery outcomes for patients of all ages. Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Provide direct patient care through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, and modalities to promote healing and mobility.
- Monitor patient progress, document responses to treatment, and communicate updates to the supervising therapist.
- Support discharge planning by educating patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and post-treatment care strategies.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and outpatient clinics to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards during all therapeutic interventions.
- Stay current with advancements in physiotherapy techniques, including specialized areas such as orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Proven experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, or outpatient clinics with a focus on orthopedics or geriatrics.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and various physiotherapy modalities including trigger point therapy.
- Familiarity with care planning processes and discharge procedures for diverse patient populations.
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to motivate and support individuals through their rehabilitation journey.
- Experience working with pediatric and geriatric patients is preferred.
