Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant - PRN

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team on a PRN basis. In this role, you will support licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality patient care across various settings, including assisted living facilities and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will help patients recover, improve mobility, and regain independence through personalized therapy plans. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives while working in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for diverse patient populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and post-surgical cases
  • Conduct therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy and physiotherapy techniques to alleviate pain and improve function
  • Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatments accurately within medical records
  • Educate patients on exercises, mobility strategies, and discharge planning to promote ongoing recovery at home or in outpatient settings
  • Support patient care activities by preparing treatment areas, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe environment during therapy sessions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and optimize patient outcomes
  • Stay current with physiology knowledge, medical terminology, and anatomy to effectively assist in complex cases across inpatient and outpatient settings

Skills

  • Proven experience with skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments
  • Strong understanding of physiotherapy techniques and patient care principles
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and discharge planning processes
  • Proficiency in trigger point therapy and other manual therapy methods to target muscle pain and dysfunction
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication within healthcare teams
  • Familiarity with orthopedic, geriatric, pediatric, acute care, and outpatient rehabilitation practices
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate patient care tailored to individual needs
