LPN– Pediatric Stars PPECC

Job Summary:

Pediatric Stars PPECC is seeking a compassionate and skilled LPN to provide direct nursing care to medically fragile and special needs children in a nurturing, daycare-like environment where children can thrive while receiving the medical care they require. The RN will be responsible for managing the healthcare needs of children with complex medical conditions, working closely with families, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic, family-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, enteral feedings, respiratory treatments, tracheostomy care, and seizure management.
  • Monitor and assess children for changes in condition, ensuring early recognition of potential health issues.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in coordination with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of assessments, interventions, and care provided in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Educate families on the child’s care plan, medical equipment, medications, and support resources.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment that supports the developmental, emotional, and physical needs of each child.
  • Participate in emergency response procedures and follow established protocols for medical emergencies.
  • Collaborate with therapists (PT, OT, ST) to support therapy goals and developmental milestones.
  • Assist with transportation coordination and transition of care as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control policies and PPECC licensing standards.
  • Support quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the center.
  • Support daily administrative responsibilities and help maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for the children as needed throughout the day.

Qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted LPN License in the state of PA.
  • CPR (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; pediatric, home health, or critical care experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with tracheostomy care, G-tube/NG-tube feedings, oxygen therapy, and seizure protocols is highly desirable.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and family-centered care approach.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) documentation.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, Part-time or Per-diem positions are available.
  • Monday through Friday (No Nights, Weekends, or Major Holidays).
  • Day shift hours (center operates typically 06:50 AM – 6:00 PM)
  • High traffic hours are between 8a-4p Monday through Friday.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, PRN, Permanent, Per diem

Pay: $35.00 per hour
