<Responsibilities>
- Deliver comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform care plans.
- Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and catheterizations, following strict protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Assist with complex medical procedures such as wound suturing, tube feeding management, and ventilator support in accordance with established standards.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor patients’ conditions continuously, recognizing signs of acute pain or deterioration and escalating concerns promptly to physicians or emergency teams.
- Provide specialized care for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and those requiring hospice or memory care.
- Support discharge planning and case management activities by coordinating follow-up care and educating patients and families on treatment regimens.
<Skills>
- Proven experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Skilled in patient assessment techniques including vital signs measurement, specimen collection/processing, phlebotomy, venipuncture, and sterile procedures like catheter care and suture removal.
- Expertise in managing complex clinical scenarios such as ICU or Level I Trauma Center environments; experience with acute pain management and infectious disease care is highly valued.
- Ability to perform advanced nursing tasks including IV insertion/infusion therapy, airway management, use of ventilators, and spinal taps when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills for triage assessments in urgent care or emergency room settings; capable of working effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards along with proficiency in medical terminology and nursing practices tailored for diverse healthcare settings such as assisted living, home & community care, or hospital medicine. Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Work Location: On the road
