We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Charge Nurse in our healthcare facility. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care with a focus on safety, comfort, and clinical excellence across various departments such as medical-surgical, long-term care, or acute care units.
- Lead and supervise nursing staff, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations to inform individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following strict protocols while maintaining accurate medical documentation.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary communication for discharge planning, case management, and collaboration with physicians to optimize patient outcomes.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Oversee infection control practices, sterile procedures, and aseptic techniques to uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety.
- Assist with complex procedures like catheterization, wound suturing, or spinal taps when necessary.
- Support emergency response efforts by managing airway management, ventilator use, or acute pain management in critical situations.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid LPN or RN license in good standing with relevant state licensing boards.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Point Click Care or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation.
- Experience working in diverse settings including hospital medicine, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or hospice environments.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/10 coding systems for accurate medical records documentation.
- Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, medication administration, IV infusion therapy, and infection control practices.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a positive and energetic work environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Working knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to pain management and acute care procedures.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are a plus. Pay: From $27.50 per hour
