Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and mental health evaluations to inform treatment plans.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following established protocols while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Assist with medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as Tebra to maintain accurate patient records.
- Support triage activities by prioritizing patient needs, managing urgent situations such as acute pain or behavioral health crises, and coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with developmental disabilities, Autism, Sensory issues, dementia (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), and those requiring hospice or post-acute care services.
- Conduct specimen collection, processing laboratory tests, and manage infection control procedures to uphold safety standards.
- Educate patients and their families on medication administration, health coaching, discharge planning, and self-care strategies to promote long-term wellness.
Qualifications
- Valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current state certification.
- Proven experience working in mental health settings or clinics providing psychiatric or behavioral health care.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; proficiency in medical documentation is essential.
- Experience in triage, acute care management, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities including Autism, dual diagnosis, or developmental delays is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), medication administration techniques including injections and IV insertion.
- Strong assessment skills with the ability to recognize urgent conditions promptly.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
