PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Every Other Weekend

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support students in a campus-based First Aid Center. This role focuses on providing high-quality nursing care, medication observation, and person-centered education to individuals with physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities.

This is an ongoing PRN opportunity with consistent weekend hours and no planned end date.

Available Shift

Every Other Weekend

• Saturday & Sunday
• 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
• 12 hours of paid work per day
• Two unpaid 1-hour lunch breaks

Must be available for weekends and occasional night coverage as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess students using a triage-based approach
• Record and monitor vital signs
• Observe and document student self-administration of medications
• Oversee the medication observation process
• Perform treatments as ordered by healthcare providers
• Respond to on-campus medical emergencies
• Document nursing care in electronic medical records
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Provide nursing care in a school-based setting
• Support students with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
• Work with adaptive equipment when required
• Manage medical supplies and inventory responsibly
• Follow established nursing protocols and procedures
• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
• Provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Tennessee
• Experience or comfort working with individuals with disabilities preferred
• Knowledge of basic laboratory practices
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Ability to deliver clear and concise health education
• Basic knowledge of electronic documentation systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
