Job Summary: Weekend Part-time 8am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality patient care across diverse settings, including acute care, long-term care, assisted living, and specialized units such as ICU, pediatrics, and behavioral health. Your expertise will help ensure optimal patient outcomes by delivering skilled nursing interventions, performing assessments, and supporting care plans in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform care strategies.
  • Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform phlebotomy with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage complex medical procedures such as catheterization, tube feeding, ventilator management, and sterile processing.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory tests, medical imaging, sonography, spinal taps, and cardiac catheterization procedures.
  • Provide specialized care for diverse populations such as geriatrics with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, pediatric patients including neonatal ventilator management and toddler care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, utilization review/management, and family education to promote holistic patient well-being.

Qualifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current certification to practice.
  • Proven experience in acute care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for procedures, and DRG systems.
  • Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; proficiency in medical documentation is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform advanced nursing skills including IV insertion/infusion, catheter care, suturing assistance, and specimen collection/processing.
  • Experience working with specialized populations such as those with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is a plus.
  • Excellent patient assessment skills combined with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine or trauma centers.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety at all times.
