Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our growing team. This role focuses on providing high-quality mental health support to veterans dealing with challenges such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and life transitions.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable with medical documentation, and passionate about serving the veteran population.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual counseling sessions to veterans
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Assign appropriate ICD-10 diagnosis codes to support medical necessity and treatment planning
  • Ensure all documentation meets VA Community Care Network standards and timelines
  • Complete required documentation for referrals, authorizations, and re-authorizations
  • Submit session notes promptly to support billing through VA/third-party administrators (e.g., Optum, TriWest)
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (massage therapists, holistic providers, etc.)
  • Support veterans in achieving mental, emotional, and functional wellness
  • Uphold ethical and professional standards in all patient interactions

Qualifications

  • Active Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in Texas
  • Experience working with veterans, trauma, or PTSD preferred (but not required)
  • Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 diagnostic coding
  • Experience with insurance, VA Community Care, or medical billing documentation preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EMR systems)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
